New Player    |    CO Application    |    Ship Application

Horizon Fleet provides users with three different applications for membership, depending on what a particular player is looking for.

New players are encouraged to sign up for a simm either through the simm's website, or through the Horizon Fleet website. Those who feel they belong in the center seat should fill out a CO Application, which will allow you to select an available ship from our current fleet and apply to command it. Ship Applications are generally reserved for active Independent simms which have at least six players, a functioning website with at least an introduction and crew manifest, and at least some evidence of sustained activity (at least six months is preferred but not essential).

When filling out any application for Horizon Fleet membership, it is absolutely essential that you fill out the application completely. Character descriptions should be thorough and detail the character's personality, appearance, and history from youth to Starfleet Academy to active service and possibly to command, if applicable. The sample post should be original, creative, and of adequate length... after all, posting is what joining a simm is all about! Then there is the questionnaire at the end, which should be given plenty of attention. When reading through applications, COs and Fleet Personnel look at these answers very closely, as they are a very important indicator of how you will deal with difficult or common situations, as well as how well you will work with other players, especially those that you command and those that command you.

Finally, applications should be proofread for spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as they are supposed to be shining examples of your best work, especially if you want to be a CO. We need to be able to look at an application and say, "This guy will make a great player," or, "The lady really has what it takes to lead a ship," or finally, "I have a feeling this one will really be a team player."
